Three crew members of an Indian Coast Guard helicopter died after their Advanced Light Helicopter crashed during a routine operation in Gujarat’s Porbandar on Sunday.

According to reports, the crew members were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Porbandar for emergency medical care following the crash. Despite medical teams’ efforts, three fatalities were confirmed.

“Three crew members killed as Indian Coast Guard helicopter crashes in Gujarat’s Porbandar,” Gujarat Police told news agency PTI.

According to Porbandar SP Bhagirathsinh Jadeja, the incident took place at 12.10 pm.

A video of the crash has surfaced online, showing thick black fumes emanating from the crash site as firefighters work on the scene, attempting to extinguish the fire.

This incident adds to a series of accidents involving ALH helicopters, which have experienced multiple crashes in recent years due to both technical issues and operational challenges. Investigators have been deployed to the crash site to determine the cause of the accident.

The Indian Coast Guard and local authorities are coordinating rescue and recovery efforts while securing the area. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
