In a recent interview, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah shared his strong desire to win the Premier League, describing it as a personal goal for what he has hinted could be his last year at the club.

Salah, who has been a crucial part of Liverpool’s success over the past several years, stated that winning the Premier League was at the top of his list for the season, especially after the league title they claimed in 2020 was overshadowed by the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

For the Egyptian winger, this season feels different. “The first thing that was on the list was to win the Premier League with Liverpool,” Salah said during his conversation with Sky Sports.

Despite frequently expressing a desire to win the Champions League over the years, this marks the first time he has publicly focused on the league title. Salah explained that the reason for this shift is the way Liverpool’s 2020 Premier League title was celebrated due to the global pandemic.

Additionally, with his contract nearing its end, Salah views this season as a pivotal opportunity to secure something truly special for both himself and the city of Liverpool, which has supported him throughout his journey.

Salah’s impact on the field remains undeniable, with 17 goals and 13 assists in the Premier League this season. However, with his future at Liverpool uncertain, he emphasized his commitment to giving his all for the team in their quest for silverware.

“I will do my best for the team to win the trophy. There are a few other teams catching up with us, and we need to stay focused, humble, and keep pushing,” he stated.

Salah is not alone in his uncertain future. Liverpool is also dealing with the contracts of other key players, such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, both of whom are nearing the end of their current deals.

These players form the backbone of the team, and securing their futures could prove essential for Liverpool’s long-term ambitions, especially as they chase further success both domestically and in Europe.

Despite sitting atop the Premier League table, the club faces a critical period in which retaining these key figures could be crucial in shaping their next few seasons.
