Satna (Madhya Pradesh): A group of people attacked a 20-year-old youth with a sword on the Rewa road in Satna city Thursday afternoon. The youth sustained serious injuries in the face.
The police identified the criminals and examined the CCTV footage. The reason for the attack was not known. The youth who sustained injuries in the attack was identified as Rishav Dwivedi, resident of Khajuri Tola.
According to eye witnesses, the attackers demanded money from the youth. When the youth refused to give money, the attackers hurled abuses at him and began to beat him up. The injured was rushed to the district hospital, but because his condition was deteriorating, he was referred to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa.
Town inspector of city Kotwali Ravendra Dwivedi said the police began to examine the CCTV footage from the cameras installed in shops in the area. The passers-by were scared, but one of them secretly made a video of the incident. The attackers were carrying swords and baseball bat. There were some youths carrying sharp-edged weapons. They were helping Rishav cross the road.
