After the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government in Bangladesh, the Hindu community has become the target of fundamentalists. Thousands of incidents of arrest of Hindu saints, attacks on temples and threats and assault have come to light. Meanwhile, radicals have started a new demonstration in the capital Dhaka. An organization has warned hotel owners of boycotting their hotels if beef is not served there. The demonstration was organized near Gulistan Golap Shah Mazar in Dhaka and was attended by members of the Muslim Bhokta Adhikar Parishad.

Protesting radicals say that beef is loved in Bangladesh, so beef should be available in every hotel. There are some hotels in Dhaka where beef is not served because of Hindu customers, but fundamentalists say that people’s right to eat is being compromised because of Hindus. They allege that the hotel owners want to make Bangladesh like India.

The protesters also said that if beef was not served in a hotel, it would be considered a supporter of the BJP (India’s ruling party). At the same time, only those hotels where beef will be served will be considered “patriots”. Under its pressure, two hotels have included cow meat in their menu.

The news of atrocities on Hindu community in Bangladesh has spread all over the world. Demonstrations have been held for Hindu rights in many countries. Labor Party leader in Britain Pushpita Gupta said that if Hindus cannot be given rights, then a separate country should be created for them. He also said that Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus has failed to stop the atrocities on Hindus, and the population of the Hindu community in Bangladesh is continuously decreasing.

Meanwhile, in the case of Hindu priest Chinmoy Das arrested in Bangladesh, the Ministry of External Affairs said that there should be a fair trial in the court. There are allegations that Chinmoy Das has been arrested on false charges, and now a conspiracy is being hatched to keep him in jail.

ISKCON Kolkata has started its regular prayers regarding the increasing violence in Bangladesh. International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) spokesperson Radharaman Das said they would continue their prayers for the safety of minorities in Bangladesh and the release of imprisoned Hindu saint Chinmoy Krishna Das until the situation there becomes normal.
