Maharashtra government announces 115 new posts for Kolhapur Engineering College, enhancing academic and operational support | Facebook
Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Friday announced the creation of 115 new posts for the recently established Government Engineering College in Kolhapur. These posts, which will be phased in over time, will support the college’s academic and operational needs as it prepares to open its doors to students in the upcoming academic year.
A total of 65 teaching posts, 26 regular non-teaching posts, and 24 non-teaching posts through external agencies have been approved, marking a significant step in the development of the new institution.
The creation of these posts follows a proposal submitted by the Directorate of Technical Education, which was approved by the High-Level Secretary Committee on October 8 last year. The new staff positions are designed to ensure that the college can offer a high-quality educational experience, with expert faculty and robust support staff in place.
Speaking about the decision, a government spokesperson stated, “The creation of these posts is a critical milestone in the establishment of the new Government Engineering College in Kolhapur. It ensures that the institution will be equipped to deliver top-tier education and support services to its students from day one.”
The new college, announced in 2023, offers a range of technical courses, including Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Engineering, Mechanical and Automation Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. These courses are expected to equip students with the skills needed to thrive in rapidly advancing fields of technology and engineering.
With the creation of these 115 posts, the state government is one step closer to realising its vision of enhancing technical education in the region. The recently established Government Engineering College is expected to be a key institution in Kolhapur, helping to address the increasing demand for skilled engineers and contributing to regional development. The announcement comes with the approval of the Finance Department, ensuring that the process remains transparent and financially sound.
