Bhopal/Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Two imposters were caught in the uniform of Special Task Force (STF) at the Gwalior Trade Fair on Thursday night. Accompanied by a friend carrying a walkie-talkie, the duo had been roaming around the fair’s rides sector, initially deceiving even police officials.

While inspecting the fair, police officers noticed a man in plain clothes holding a walkie-talkie, followed by two men in STF-like uniforms. Their demeanour aroused suspicion, prompting an inquiry. Police have registered a case against the apprehended for misusing uniforms and impersonating officers.

According to information, the accused, identified as Ativeer Sharma and Ravi Sharma, are residents of Daheli village. Their companion has been identified as Shivam, who hails from Mahalgaon. According to sources, both the accused were employed as security guards for the fair. Instead of wearing normal guard uniforms, they brandished the STF uniforms. When the police were inspecting the fair, they saw a man wearing formal overalls holding a walkie-talkie and followed by two people wearing STF uniforms. For an instance, the police were confused, but later they stopped the duo and investigated.

When questioned about their duties, the trio failed to provide satisfactory answers. They could not produce identification cards or confirm any official affiliation. The man with the walkie-talkie claimed ignorance, stating he was merely accompanying his friends. Apprehending the duo, police have registered a case for misusing uniforms and impersonating officers. The uniforms and walkie-talkie have been seized, while Shivam’s involvement is under investigation.
