Team India’s stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah was disappointed over giving Washington Sundar out on day one of the fifth and final Test against Australia in Sydney. With Sundar’s caught-behind decision seemingly showing no conclusive evidence to overturn it, Bumrah reminded how Yashasvi Jaiswal was given out in Melbourne despite snicko suggesting otherwise.

Jaiswal’s dismissal for 84 on day five of the Boxing Day Test sparked massive controversy as the third umpire ruled out based only on deflection. Meanwhile, snicko reflected no movement when the ball went past Sundar’s gloves but third umpire Joel Wilson asked the on-field one to reverse the decision.

In the video shared by Star Sports, Bumrah was heard saying on stump mic:

“Last game he didn’t give it out on snicko.”

Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland play vital roles to clean up Team India for 185

Bumrah, the captain, had earlier elected to bat first after winning an important toss. However, the trio of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Scott Boland put India under pressure early. Starc and Boland nipped out the openers, while Nathan Lyon got the better of Shubman Gill on the final ball before lunch.

The highest partnership of their innings was the 48-run stand between Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant. Boland picked up four wickets, while Starc took three. Cummins finished with a couple, followed by Lyon snaring a solitary scalp. While Australia edged India on day one, the visiting captain dismissing Usman Khawaja in the final ball of the day gave India some hope going on day two.
