The first song from Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan’s upcoming film, Loveyapa, was dropped by the makers online on Friday, and the fresh pair miserably failed to impress the viewers. Instead, the song was labelled as “cringe” and netizens questioned the lyrics and visuals of the track as well.
The track called Loveyapa Ho Gaya from Khushi and Junaid’s upcoming film, Loveyapa, introduces Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter as Baani, and Aamir Khan’s son as Gucci. Despite its vibrant and energetic visuals and hook step, the song fails to perform in the lyrics sector. The lyrics are as cringeworthy as it gets, with little to no sense being made for 3 minutes straight. The chemistry between the two actors also failed to impress.
The song has been sung by Nakash Aziz and Madhubanti Bagchi, and the lyrics penned by SOM.
As soon as the song was released, netizens criticised the lyrics on social media. “This is verbal diarrhoea,” a user wrote on Reddit, while another commented, “What a cringefest to watch…I hope they get better.”
Loveyapa marks the second films of both Khushi and Junaid. While Khusi marked her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies in 2023, Junaid starred in the film Maharaj last year.
Loveyapa is all set to release in theatres on February 7. It has been directed by Advait Chandan of Laal Singh Chaddha fame.
