‘Gujju’ Man Regrets Moving To Ahmedabad After Living In Bengaluru, Terms It His ‘Big Mistake’ | Canva/X@@gujjutweeter

An X user identified as ‘Gujju Tweeter’ has grabbed the attention of netizens with his recent post comparing two Indian cities. His post started with the words “Ahmedabad sucks”, followed by mentions of his experiences of living in Bengaluru versus his life in the Gujarati city. While uploading the post online, the user termed his decision to move to Ahmedabad after living in Bengaluru for a while a “Big mistake”.

“More alive life in Bengaluru”

“It was more alive life in Bengaluru than here (Ahmedabad)”, he wrote while comparing the scenes he went through in the two regions.

“No professional ethics…all show offs”

“I was living amongst most intelligent people in their fields. Simple life and robust setup. Ahmedabad, it’s all show off and seeing how companies run by families (even IT companies) and they are just exploiting hostile employees. No professional ethics and many subtle mindset issues. All show offs and mostly wealthy are living off “borrowed money”, he added.

That wasn’t all. He went further to allege Ahmedabad doesn’t have a co-working culture.

When a techie named Abhinav Baldha reacted to his post and suggested him try finding his community through cafe visits, coworking spaces, and meetups, the Gujju man said, “Tried that also, here co-working culture is not present. Meetups also, they discuss “Hello world” topics, very basics that doesn’t make sense. Yes, there are great people and subject matter experts, they are exiled or avoid to meet such a low quality crowd”.

Check out a few reactions

As these remarks on Ahmedabad surfaced online, netizens joined the conversation and expressed their views about the city. There were 100+ reactions after his post went viral on X.

Agreeing to the points made by the X user, one the replies read, “Ahmedabad is over-Vikasized and the atmosphere is so rough there that I found the heat of the Kutchh desert during May-June more tenable than Ahmedabad’s”. “Vadodara and Surat are better cities than Ahmedabad. Being a Gujarati I never liked Ahmedabad”, another added.

Meanwhile, one of the X users claimed “Ahmedabad is pushed by government to be cool”. “We moved 2 Ahmedabad from Bangalore n staying since 2021. My experiences r different since i work from home and very limited interaction with public, from ordering grocery to milk online. Ahmedabad has nice roads, difficult 2 find a house for rent if u r non veg, not in south”, wrote another.
