Pune: Massive Protest On January 5 Demands Justice For Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, Daughter Vaibhavi Appeals To Punekars To Join In Heartfelt Video |

Huge protest against the brutal murder of Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh will be staged in Pune on January 5.

In Beed district, residents are taking to the streets to protest the brutal murder of Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh and demand justice for his family. Following protests in Beed and Parbhani, a Janakrosh Morcha is scheduled to take place in Pune on January 5. The earlier protests saw participation from former MP Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati, MLA Jitendra Awhad, MP Banjarang Sonawane, along with other MLAs and political leaders from Beed district.

Pople who participated in the previous protests called for the resignation of Minister Dhananjay Munde and demanded the arrest of the absconding accused. This because his close aide Walmik Karad was tagged as mastermind of the crime.

Organised by all parties and social organisations, January 5 march aims to demand justice for Santosh Deshmukh, who was murdered in Beed, and Somnath Suryavanshi from Parbhani, who died in police custody.

Vaibhavi, the daughter of late Santosh Deshmukh, will also join the morcha in Pune.

In a heartfelt video message released ahead of the march, she said, “My father was brutally murdered, and we demand justice.” She also urged Punekars to participate in the protest, asking for the strictest punishment for the accused.

Protest to start from Lal Mahal

The protest will begin at Lal Mahal in Pune and proceed to the Pune District Collector’s Office.

The marchers, including political leaders, social organisations, and local communities, are calling for the immediate arrest of the accused and their punishment to the fullest extent of the law.

Santosh Deshmukh was allegedly abducted and tortured to death on December 9. While four persons have been arrested, Opposition leaders claimed in the state legislature during the winter session that Walmik Karad was the mastermind of the murder.

Karad, named as an accused in a related case of extortion but not for the murder, recently surrendered in Pune.
