PF fraud case: The Karnataka High Court has granted interim relief to former cricketer Robin Uthappa by staying the arrest warrant issued against him in a case related to alleged irregularities in Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) deposits. Justice Suraj Govindraj gave the order after Robin Uthappa filed a petition challenging the warrant and the related recovery notice.

Bengaluru Police issued an arrest warrant on 21 December based on instructions from the PF Commissioner on 4 December. It sought recovery of dues relating to Robin Uthappa’s former role as director at Centaurus Lifestyle Brands.
From 2018 to 2020, Robin Uthappa was the director of Centaras Lifestyle Brands, a private company. According to the notice published against them, PF of the employees was being done. But this money was not being deposited in his account. The total amount related to the PF case was around Rs 23.16 lakh.
