Actress Chahat Pandey, a well-known face on television, is currently locked up inside the Bigg Boss 18 house. She recently grabbed eyeballs after her mother entered the house during the ‘family week’ and slammed contestant Avinash Mishra for her behaviour with Chahat.
In Wednesday’s episode, Chahat’s mother was seen calling Avinash out for misbehaving with the actress inside the Bigg Boss 18 house. Not just that, but she also dug up old graves and made tall claims about the time when Chahat and Avinash worked together in the shows, Durga: Mata Ki Chhaaya and Nath.
Chahat’s mother also called Avinash a ‘womaniser’ on national television, and was heard asking him to stay away from her daughter.
Who is Chahat Pandey?
Born in 1995, Chahat hails from Damoh in Madhya Pradesh. In 2016, she marked her television debut with the show, Pavitra Bandhan. Besides, she also featured in some episodes of Saavdhaan India.
In 2017, Chahat was chosen to play the role of Radha opposite Sumedh Mudgalkar in RadhaKrishn and a promo featuring her was also released, however, due to issues with makers, she was dropped from the show, and was replaced by Mallika Singh.
Chahat shot to fame when in 2019, she played the lead in Hamari Bahu Silk. She also featured in Mere Sai – Shraddha Aur Saburi, before landing the lead roles in Durga: Mata Ki Chhaaya and Nath, and in both the shows, she played the role of Avinash’s love interest and wife.
Chahat Pandey’s boyfriend
During the latest episode of Bigg Boss 18, Chahat’s mother stated that the actress was not dating anyone and never had a boyfriend. She also mentioned that Chahat would marry even a ‘blind man’ if her family asked her to.
However, Avinash was later heard telling other housemates that Chahat had a boyfriend when they were shooting for their show and the person would also send gifts on the sets everyday.
Chahat Pandey’s controversies
In 2020, the actress, along with her co-stars from Hamari Bahu Silk, made headlines after they accused the makers of not paying their dues. She had also claimed that her landlord asked her to vacate the house in the middle of the COVID-19 lockdown as she was unable to pay the rent.
In the same year, Chahat was reportedly arrested along with her mother on charges of breaking into a relative’s apartment and assaulting him. If reports are to be believed, Chahat and her mother wanted her uncle to adopt one of his sister’s daughters, and when he refused, they took matters into their own hands, vandalised his house and threatened him.
Before entering the Bigg Boss 18 house, Chahat was also in news for her fights with co-star Avinash. Reports claimed that the two often had arguments and altercations on the sets of their show, Nath, and it was one of the reasons why the daily soap abruptly went off-air.
Chahat Pandey’s political career
Not many know but Chahat had also forayed into politics. She had joined Aam Aadmi Party ahead of the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from Damoh seat. She, however, lost the election.
