Mumbai – Crowds of people visiting pilgrimage places with the intention of starting the New Year with Devdarshan remained in many temples of the state including Mumbai. Long queues were seen in the temples since morning and an atmosphere of happiness was seen among the devotees.

Apart from Siddhi Vinayak Temple of Mumbai, Mahalaxmi Temple, Babulnath Temple, Ambamata Temple of Kolhapur, Shirdi Sai Temple, Dagdusheth Ganapati of Pune, Vitthal Temple of Pandharpur, many other temples were crowded with devotees since this morning.

Sai Baba temple in Shirdi was kept open the whole night on 31st. VVIP darshan facility was closed in Trimbakeshwar due to crowd of people.

Many devotees had come out for darshan with their families, yet the temples were crowded.

There was a rush of devotees on the first day of the new year in the temple of Ambabai located at Karveer Niwasini in Kolhapur, one of the three and a half Shaktipeeths of the state. The same crowd which was seen here during Navratri was also seen on the first day of the new year. The result was that all the hotels and inns here were packed.
