The United States of America ushered into 2025 on a tragic note, as the country has been inflicted with two different incidents in two different cities. The first was an attack that was carried out in New Orleans, in Lousiana, when a man rammed his vehicle into New Year celebrations in the city. This incident has so far killed 15 people.
Attacks In the US
The matter has been taken up by the FBI as being treated as an act of terrorism.
The second incident came to pass in the form of an explosion in the western state of Nevada in the city of Las Vegas. Here, a truck, more precisely Tesla’s Cybertruck, exploded near Trump Towers in the city known for its casinos.
In this incident, as according to a report from ABC San Francisco, the driver may have been killed in the explosion.
When it comes to the Vegas incident, major media outlets have covered it as an explosion involving the Cybertruck. This appears to have irked Tesla (the maker of the Cybertrucks) boss Elon Musk.
Musk has gone on a tirade against media houses for ‘framing’ the news in a way that according to him, shows his company in poor light.
In addition, in his posts on X, Musk is also seen defending his vehicle, and ostensibly bragging about its prowess.
In one of his early post in the matter, the richest man in the world took a more proactive stance, and said that his team is “investigating” the matter.
In his post quoting the report of the explosion, he added, “The whole Tesla senior team is investigating this matter right now. Will post more information as soon as we learn anything. We’ve never seen anything like this.”
Musk Accuses Media Of Bias
Later on, in another post, he claimed the following, “We have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself. All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion.”
Thereafter, Musk appears to have taken a different approach. Musk, in his posts and reposts of other affiliated accounts, is accusing ‘legacy media’ of tarnishing his company.
Musk reposted a post which read the following, “Legacy media are paid shills. They use Tesla, Cybertruck and Elon Musk for clicks and maximum bait. I don’t watch legacy anymore. Only 𝕏.”
Will Musk Sue Legacy Media?
In another post, Musk bragged about how Cybertruck helped contain the explosion. In his post he said, “The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards. Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken”.
Musk then went back to accusing media houses of bias. In another post, he added, “AP stands for Associated Propaganda”
In another post, Musk espoused the idea of suing media houses for allegedly besmirching his company and name.
