UP government officials are working actively for complete preparations for Mahakumbh. Work is being done on a war footing at the Triveni Sangam of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers in Prayagraj for the Mahakumbh starting from the full moon day of Posh month i.e. 13th January.

Mahakumbh, which lasts for 45 days, will conclude on Mahashivratri on 26th February. It is estimated that around 40 crore devotees will take a dip in the holy Ganga during this 45 day period. To properly organize this largest religious event of the world, roads and rivers are being cleaned, roads are being widened, river banks are being leveled.

PM Modi has called it the Mahakumbh of unity. Which is a symbol of unity in diversity. This Mahakumbh, organized every 12 years at Triveni Sangam, will start on 13 January 2025 on Paush Sud Poonam and will end 45 days later on Mahashivratri on 26 February. Lakhs of devotees will take a dip of faith in Ganga in Mahakumbh. It is expected that this year 40 crore devotees will take advantage of Mahakumbh. The banks of Ganga have been transformed into Mahakumbh city.

For this, preparations have been started on war footing by the UP government. 1,60,000 tents are being made. One and a half lakh toilets are being built. Which will be cleaned by 15,000 employees. A 1250 km long pipeline will be laid for water and sewage treatment. 67,000 LED lights, 2000 solar lights will illuminate Mahakumbh Nagar. 3 lakh saplings have been planted to renovate this area. Apart from this, 9 permanent ghats, 7 roads connecting the river banks and 12 km long temporary ghats are being constructed. Seven bus stands are being built. To beautify the area, murals and street paintings are being made in 15 lakh square feet area. Amidst many problems, the authorities are beautifying the banks of Ganga by acquiring 4000 hectares of land for Mahakumbh. Which is divided into 25 different sectors.

Medical services and ATMs of banks have been arranged to provide 24-hour medical services with doctors and nurses to the sick people. Bank ATMs are being installed in 25 sectors at a short distance from the river bank. Lakhs of tents have been set up for people to stay and rest. Separate arrangements have been made for the stay of saints and sages of 13 Akharas.
