Another brilliant daddy ton from man-of-the-match…Shardul Fagare ensured a massive victory for General Education Academy, Chembur beating opponents Convent of Jesus and Mary by 164 runs at the United Crickewt Club advancing into the next round of the Giles Shield Cricket Tournament.

Batting first, the Chembur outfit amassed 282-8 in 45 overs. The star of the show was opening right-handed dynamic batter, the 12-year-old Shardul’s 171 came in just 126 balls, including 12 boundaries.

His dominance with the bat has been incredible, notching up back-to-back massive centuries.

Siddhant Desai scored 47 while Devansh Ghodke contributed a handy 41. For the opposition, Ajinkya Sule grabbed a five-wicket haul, (5-85) in 16 overs. In reply, the Convent team were bundled out for a paltry 117 in 39 overs. Aman Sunil picked a six-fer, (6-31) in 15 overs including three maidens.

At High Court, Oval Maidan, Podar International School won their contest by 5 wickets.

Put into bat first, Tarapur Vidya Mandir notched up 126 all out in 36.5 overs. Leg spinner Moksh Shah stuck to his game plan, keep things simple in the middle and was thus awarded with heaps pf wickets.

The youngster picked a brilliant six wicket haul in the process, (6-30) in 14 overs which included 6 maidens. He was well supported

by Pravir Bhanushali who grabbed four wickets. Coming out to chase the total, Podar scored 130-5 in 23.2 overs. Opener and right-handed batter Moksh Shah’s scored 49 with the bat. His all-round show was extremely impressive, and he was thus awarded the Man of the Match.

At LIC Cricket Ground, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vidyalay won by six wickets. Batting first, St. Rock’s notched up 82 all out. Right-handed opening batter Thathgat Sharma top scored with 53.

On the other hand, Man of the Match-Off spinner Aayush Chavan grabbed a great five wicket haul, (5-39) in 15.1 overs. He ensured his team had the upper hand in the contest right from the very beginning.

In reply, the Babasaheb team crossed the finish line with 83-4 in 16.1 overs.
