Ludhiana: A sudden fire broke out on the second floor of a TVS showroom located near Basti Jodhewal Chowk, Ludhiana. In this horrific accident, about 40 electric scooters kept in the showroom were completely burnt to ashes. Seeing the flames, nearby people reached the spot and informed the fire brigade.
Local people also informed the showroom owner about the fire over phone. The fire brigade team reached the spot and started the work of extinguishing the fire, but it took them four hours. Initial investigation has stated that the cause of the fire was short circuit.
According to eyewitnesses, some time after the fire, sounds of explosions started coming from the second floor, due to which panic spread in the surrounding area. It is believed that during this time the batteries in the showroom were exploding, due to which this situation occurred.
More than a dozen fire tenders were sent to the spot to extinguish the fire. Fire brigade officials said that as soon as they received information about the fire, they immediately reached the spot and tenders were also called from the fire stations of Local Adda, Sundar Nagar and Tajpur Road. Fire brigade teams with 12 to 13 vehicles brought the fire under control.
