In series of tweets on ‘X’, Chouhan highlighted Singh’s pivotal role in India’s economic liberalization and his legacy of bipartisan governance. He praised Singh’s humility and simplicity, recalling the guidance he received from him as Chief Minister.

Recalling an incident in Washington, the minister said he had defended Singh when a journalist called him an “underachiever.” “I immediately responded, stating respectfully that our Prime Minister could never be an underachiever,” he said.
