Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has declared the final result of the third phase of teacher appointment on Thursday. 12,960 candidates have got success for Higher Secondary Teachers. A total of more than 24,000 posts were vacant in this process, but more than 50% of the seats remained vacant.

Result Details

  1. For Higher Secondary Teachers:
    • 12,479 candidates were successful.
    • Appointment in 29 subjects.
  2. Secondary (Special Teacher):
    • Selection on 171 posts.
  3. SC/ST Department:
    • 201 candidates for higher secondary teachers.
    • 109 selected for 6th to 10th.

status of vacant seats

  • Seats remained vacant due to non-availability of candidates in many subjects.
  • Especially in SC/ST category:
    • Seats could not be filled in subjects like science.
    • Only 1 candidate each was successful in subjects like Prakrit and Pali.
  • Status of some other subjects:
    • Bhojpuri: 3 candidates.
    • Persian and Bengali: 7 candidates each.

    • Mathematics: 789 selected.
    • Physics: 441 selected.
    • Chemistry: 273 selected.
    • Zoology: 625 selected.
    • Botany: 566 selected.
    • Computer Science: 906 selected.

    • Political Science: 991 selected.
    • Geography: 407 selected.
    • Psychology: 446 selected.
    • Hindi: 1130 selected.
    • English: 972 selected.
    • Sanskrit: 363 selected.
    • Philosophy: 56 selected.

Challenges of Selection Process

  • Reduction in SC/ST Category:
    • Qualified candidates of this category could not be found in many subjects.
  • Less Selection:
    • Relatively less selection in subjects like Persian, Maithili, and Bengali.
  • Less teachers than seats in science subjects:
    • Only 273 candidates in Chemistry.
