After a gripping day one of the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), India and Australia will step into the cauldron on day two aiming to take control of the proceedings. Day one ebbed and flowed as Australia ended up with their noses in front as their top four scored fifties.
With Steve Smith looking solid on 68* and the hosts’ score above 300, Pat Cummins and co. can still post a formidable score on the board. However, they will be wary, given only four more wickets are left in the shed and giving them away quickly could put India in control. Hence, Smith will be key to help the tourists to prevent them from taking total control.
