Virat Kohli and Constance controversy: Virat Kohli has had to walk shoulder to shoulder with the Australian opener batsman. Kohli has been fined 20 percent of his match fee for this misconduct. Besides, the punishment of adding demerit points has also been given.
Virat Kohli has been given this punishment for violating the ICC code of conduct. Article 2.12 of which prohibits any form of inappropriate physical contact in cricket. No player may abuse any other player beyond limits. Action will also be taken if these rules are violated.
In the test match between India and Australia, Virat Kohli angrily hit Sam Constance on the shoulder. After which a dispute was seen between the two players on the field. As soon as the match was over, Virat Kohli came in front of the match referee and admitted his mistake. After which the referee fined Kohli 20 percent of the match fee. Ravi Shastri also opposed Kohli’s behavior and said that there was no need for it.
