Indore (Madhya Pradesh): City crime branch arrested three men while they were allegedly going to commit a crime in the area, police said on Wednesday. Five firearms and some live cartridges were recovered from them.

The accused had also posted a video on social media with firearms. DCP (crime) Rajesh Tripathi informed media persons that a team was constituted to arrest the people keeping illegal weapons or supplying them in the city.

The team was working on the instructions when a tip-off was received that three youths carrying firearms were roaming on Laxmibai Nagar Road on MR-4 to commit an incident.

The crime branch searched the area and managed to arrest the accused named Appu alias Abhay of Pardeshipura, Nitesh Choudhary Shraddha Shree Colony and Lucky Thakur of Kalindi Gold. Five firearms and three live cartridges were also recovered from them.

They are being questioned for the person who provided firearms to them. Police said that accused Appu runs a grocery shop in Pardeshipura and was involved in criminal activities. Lucky also runs a tent house and catering work. He was also booked by Lasudia police station staff for his involvement in a crime while Nilesh works at a transport office in the city.  

They allegedly informed the police that they had bought the firearms to take revenge from a person and were roaming to commit the crime when the police arrested them. The accused were booked under section 25, 27 of Arms Act and they are being questioned further.
