Claims of suspicion and conspiracy surfaced on social media
As soon as the video of Sunita and Butch’s Christmas celebration surfaced, people started raising questions on social media. Some users asked, ‘Did they take the Santa hat and Christmas decorations with them or did they make it on the spot?’ So the other person said, ‘Are these the same people who went for eight days in June!’ Also, some users called it a ‘big conspiracy’ and claimed that all these pictures and videos were filmed in a studio.

Giving clarification on this matter, NASA said, ‘These Christmas decorations, special gifts and food were recently sent to the ISS. The delivery was made by SpaceX in late November.

The packages sent to the seven astronauts and cosmonauts aboard the ISS included delicious meals such as ham, turkey, vegetables, pies and cookies. A Santa hat and a small Christmas tree were also sent. NASA has shared a video of this Christmas celebration online.
