Pakistan’s air attack on Afghanistan: Tension has increased again after Pakistan launched a sudden air strike late night in Barmal district of Paktika province of Afghanistan. At least 15 people, including women and children, were killed in the airstrike. The death toll is expected to increase.

Seven villages were targeted

According to local press reports, Pakistani air strikes on the night of 24 December targeted seven villages, including Laman, where five members of the same family were killed. Local sources claimed that Pakistani jets were responsible for the airstrike. Reports suggest that Murg Bazaar village of Barmal has been completely destroyed, with several people injured in the attack.

Taliban stunned by Pakistani air strike!

According to media reports, the airstrike is being investigated and further investigation is needed to confirm it and clarify responsibility for the attack. Following the airstrike on Paktika’s Barmal, the Taliban’s Defense Ministry has also vowed to retaliate. The ministry said they have a legitimate right to defend their land and sovereignty and we condemn the attack.

Pakistan remained silent

Pakistani officials have not officially confirmed the airstrikes, but security sources close to the military suggested that the airstrikes were targeted at Taliban positions near the border. This air attack took place amid increasing tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Pakistani Taliban or Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has increased its attacks on Pakistani forces in recent months, with Pakistan accusing the Afghan Taliban of harboring these terrorists.
