United States President Joe Biden and Bangladesh News: The attitude of the US administration is becoming strict regarding the attacks on Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh. Recently, America’s National Security Advisor Jack Suvilla had called Mohammad Yunus and expressed concern over the deteriorating human rights situation and democracy in Bangladesh.
It is noteworthy that Joe Biden has been in the White House for the last few days. This call was made at that very moment.
Actually, President Joe Biden is extremely angry with the oppression of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh.
The White House has made it clear in its statement that protecting human officials is the first responsibility of any government.
Along with this, Yunus has warned the government that apart from religious policy and any kind of discrimination, concrete steps should be taken to stop atrocities on minorities in his country.
In a phone conversation with Jack Sullivan, Yunus assured him of taking concrete steps in this regard. But the question is whether the assurance will turn into reality?
On the other hand, reports of attacks on Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh have been prominent in the national media in the last few months. Along with this, Bangladesh government is facing panic.
The US State Department has already criticized the atrocities on minorities in Bangladesh. In this, the arrest of religious leader Chinmoy Krishnadas and the misbehavior with his lawyers has attracted special attention of America.
Apart from this, Bangladeshis living in America demonstrated against the atrocities on minorities in their country. There were also demonstrations against Yunus. Now international pressure has increased on Bangladesh.
The question is whether Bangladesh will improve despite all this? Yunus has promised the US to defend human rights and democracy, but remains silent on attacks on Hindus and Hindu religious sites and leaders.
To divert the attention of the world, Yunus has demanded that India hand over Sheikh Hasina. On the other hand, India is struggling to pay electricity bills worth crores of rupees. In this way Yunus tried to bring back Sheikh Hasina, but to no avail.
