Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has alleged that some Delhi government officials have issued incorrect notices in newspapers under pressure from the BJP regarding two major schemes announced by the Aam Aadmi Party ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections. She warned that administrative and police action would be taken against the responsible officers.

In a press conference held today, former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, CM Atishi, former deputy CM Manish Sisodia, and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh launched a strong attack against the BJP.

This comes after Delhi government’s Health Department and Women & Child Development Department issued notices in newspapers stating that the Mahila Samman Yojana and scheme for free health treatment for senior citizens had not been notified.

Responding to these notices, CM Atishi stated, “The notices issued in newspapers today are wrong. BJP by putting pressure on a few officers got this notice published today. Administrative and Police action will be taken against these officers. The information that the Mahila Samman Yojana has been notified by the Delhi Cabinet is in the public domain.”

Recently, former CM Arvind Kejriwal had announced that if their government comes to power after the elections, the women’s assistance amount would be increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,100. Additionally, the ‘Sanjeevini’ scheme was announced to provide free treatment for people above 60 years in all Delhi hospitals. Registration for these schemes has already begun.

During the press conference, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal made a serious allegation, saying, “As per sources, recently there was a meeting between CBI, ED & I-T and they have been asked to arrest CM Atishi by fabricating any false case against the CM.”

Taking aim at the BJP, he added, “In the last ten years, the BJP has no work in Delhi. They are asking for votes only by criticising and abusing Kejriwal. But Aam Aadmi Party has a positive campaign based on the work done… We have announced the Mahila Samman Yojana and a scheme for free medical treatment of senior citizens. BJP is rattled by registrations for these schemes. Delhi cabinet has already approved the Rs 1000 allowance and a notification has been issued.”
