Ingredients required to make Hara Bhara Kebab

  • Boiled potatoes (2-3 medium size).
  • Spinach (1 cup, boiled).
  • Peas (1/2 cup, boiled).
  • Green coriander (chopped, 2 tbsp)
  • Roasted gram flour (2 tbsp).
  • Bread crumbs (1/4 cup, as needed)
  • Garlic (2-3 cloves, finely chopped).
  • Ginger (1 inch piece, grated)
  • Green chillies (2-3, finely chopped).
  • Cashews (2 pieces, for garnish)
  • Cumin (1/2 tsp).
  • salt to taste).
  • Red chilli powder (1/2 tsp).
  • Garam masala powder (1/2 tsp).
  • Dry mango powder (1/2 tsp).
  • Ghee (for baking on pan).

How to make Hara Bhara Kebab

  1. Prepare Spinach and Peas:
    • Boil spinach and peas and squeeze out the water well.
  2. Prepare the mixture:
    • Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds in it.
    • Now add boiled spinach and peas to it and fry well.
    • Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilli to it.
    • After roasting, cool it and then grind it in a mixer.
  3. Mix potatoes and paste:
    • Mash boiled potatoes and add spinach-pea paste to it.
    • Add chopped coriander and all the spices (salt, red chilli, garam masala, dry mango powder) to it.
  4. Bind the ingredients:
    • Add roasted gram flour to the mixture.
    • If the mixture is too wet, add bread crumbs to it.
    • Mix everything well.
  5. Prepare kebabs:
    • Make small round tikki shaped kebabs from the prepared mixture.
    • Place a piece of cashew on top of each kebab.
  6. Cook kebabs:
    • Apply light ghee on the pan and cook the kebab until it becomes golden and crispy from both the sides.
    • If you want, you can also deep fry the kebab.

Serve Hara Bhara Kebab hot with green chutney and vinegared onions.

Tips:

  1. If the spinach paste is too wet, fry it well.
  2. Adjust the amount of bread crumbs according to the wetness of the mixture.
  3. You can also use cheese to enhance the taste.
