Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two men were arrested for stealing four wheeler cars on demand. Five stolen vehicles were also recovered from them. A man who bought the stolen car from the accused was also detained by the police and a search was started for another accused, who had told the accused to steal the cars.
According to ACP (Juni Indore) Devendra Dhurvey, a Maruti Eeco car was stolen from Khatiwala Tank on October 29 and another car was stolen from the same colony on December 21. A team was constituted to identify the four wheeler vehicle thieves.
During the investigation, the police came to know that a car was also stolen from Azad Nagar on November 25 and another car was stolen from the Barfani Dharm area. The police team checked more than 400 CCTVs of the areas and got information that on Monday two men were roaming near Shalimar Garden to sell a stolen car.
The police team reached the mentioned place and arrested two men named Naim alias Nawab Khan of Khajrana area and IkrarHussain of Khajrana area. They allegedly informed the police they had stolen some cars from a different area of the city on the demand of one Haji Abbas Shah of Khajrana area. They also sold the car to some people in Gujarat as well. The vehicle lifters were also arrested by Hira Nagar police station staff in 2019 and Ghatabillod police a few years ago.
Following the lead given by the accused, the police also caught Gulrej Sheikh of Nandanvan Colony for allegedly buying stolen cars from the accused. He is being questioned further. So far, four Eeco cars and one Wagon R car have been recovered from them and they are being questioned further. The police are also searching for Haji Abbas. Police believed that more cars would be recovered from the accused.
