Indian Railways is preparing to launch two new special trains to boost the connectivity of Jammu and Kashmir. Soon a special sleeper train will run between New Delhi and Srinagar. This train will be centrally heated, so that passengers will be able to enjoy a comfortable journey even in cold weather. The special thing is that this train will complete its journey in just 13 hours. During this journey, passengers will be able to experience the breathtaking views of snow-covered hills and the world famous Chenab Bridge. Chenab Bridge is the highest railway arch bridge in the world, which will make this journey even more special.

Features of New Delhi-Srinagar special train

Passengers will be provided comfortable facilities in the journey from New Delhi to Srinagar. However, the facility of second class sleeper coach will not be available in this train. Earlier it was believed that Vande Bharat Sleeper train would also run on this route, but at present this plan has not been implemented.

Vande Bharat train on Katra-Baramulla route

As far as Katra-Baramulla route is concerned, Vande Bharat train with 8 coaches will be run on this route. This train will be equipped with chair car seating facility. According to the report, this train will prove to be very helpful in saving time of passengers. Through this train, the distance of 246 kilometers from Katra to Baramulla can be covered in three and a half hours. At present it takes about 10 hours to cover this distance by bus.

Special features of Vande Bharat train

The Vande Bharat train to be run for Jammu and Kashmir will have many state-of-the-art facilities. These include:

  • Silicone Heating Pads in Water Tank: To prevent the problem of water freezing during cold weather.
  • Warm Air Circulation: Hot air facility in toilets will make passengers more comfortable.
  • Faster speed and less time: Saving up to three and a half hours in travel.

Special information about Baramulla Railway Station

Baramulla Railway Station is located 57 kilometers from Srinagar. This new service will not only make travel between Srinagar and Katra faster and comfortable, but will also boost the development of the region.
