Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Income Tax department is going through the incriminating documents found during the raid against three builders and a land dealer. On the basis of the documents, it is estimated that the annual turnover of the builders is around Rs 50 crore, but tax evasion done by them could be around 10 times of their annual income. In this regard, much more clarity will come in the further investigation.

In the meantime, the I-T department sleuths have laid hands on a person named Satish Chaudhary, who during interrogation revealed that he was a dummy person of builder Rajesh Sharma (Trishul Constructions). On the instance of Sharma, he used to sign the property related documents. The I-T officials picked him from Maharashtra.

Chhattisgarh business tycoon connected with junior IAS in MP

Sources said the I-T officers came to know that Chhattisgarh’s business tycoon Mahendra Goenka, whose name cropped up in connection with the raid against three builders, including Ishaan Builders, Rajesh Sharma and Quality Builders, has connection with a junior IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh. This officer is posted in Gwalior. The I-T department is following the lead in this regard.

I-T to approach DRI for lookout notice against Sharma

As far as the I-T department action against former transport constable Saurabh Sharma is concerned, they will write a letter to the DRI for issuance of a lookout notice against him. Meanwhile, summons will be issued to all those whose contact numbers were found in the raid conducted against Sharma.

Accused’s associate traced

The person who fled in underwear and baniyan on the first day of the raid during the early morning hours has been traced by the I-T department officials. He was identified as Vishwanath Sahu, an associate of one of the builders covered in the raid. He is hospitalised with a fractured leg.
