Karnataka Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar has made serious allegations against BJP MLA CT Ravi of making derogatory remarks against her. However, Ravi has completely rejected these allegations. The matter became more heated when the minister challenged the BJP MLA and said that if he is true in what he said, then he should explain himself by swearing on Lord Manjunath.

Hebbalkar challenges CT Ravi

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Hebbalkar challenged CT Ravi to prove himself right by taking oath on Lord Manjunath at the shrine.

    “Keep the law aside, the law will take its course. But if CT Ravi believes in God, then swear in the temple of Lord Manjunath that he did not use derogatory words.”
  • She said, “I will also come there with my family. If you have morality, then come to the temple with your wife and prove your point.”

Hebbalkar alleged that Ravi was misleading the public and his party leaders.

The temple of Lord Manjunatha situated on the banks of Netravathi river in Dakshina Kannada district is about 800 years old.

    • On the complaint of Hebbalkar, the police arrested Ravi and took him in a police van from ‘Suvarna Vidhan Soudha’ of Belagavi.

    • On December 20, the Karnataka High Court ordered Ravi’s release, citing procedural lapses by the police.
    • However, the court directed him to cooperate in the investigation and be available for questioning.

Hebbalkar’s claim

While speaking, Hebbalkar said that she has deep faith in God and appealed to Ravi to once again swear by Lord Manjunath and speak the truth.
