The fourth test match between India and Australia will be played in Melbourne. At present both the teams are tied at 1-1 in the series. The squads of both the teams have also been announced for the last two matches of the series. Tanush Kotian has been given a chance in place of R Ashwin in Team India.
Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket after the Gabba Test. 4 changes have been made in the Australian team. On the other hand, Australia’s problems seem to be increasing slightly before the Melbourne Test. The performance of the team’s most explosive batsman Travis Head is still in doubt.
Will Head be out of the fourth test?
Australia head coach Andrew McDonald confirmed that Travis Head is injured. The batsman will still have to face some challenges. However, the coach expressed confidence that Head will be fit before the boxing day-test and will be a part of the fourth match. On the other hand, Travis Head has also been made the vice-captain of the Australia team for the remaining two matches of the series. Apart from this, Smith has also been chosen as the vice-captain.
Head is in great form
Travis Head has been in great form in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Head has scored 2 centuries in this series so far. In such a situation, it is very important for Australia for this player to be fit. In fact, on the fifth day of the third Test being played at Gabba, Travis Head was seen struggling while trying to reach the non-striker’s end. After which captain Pat Cummins informed that he is suffering from head quad problem. However, it remains to be seen whether Head will be able to play in the fourth Test or not.
