England Test captain Ben Stokes vowed to come back strongly after his knee injury ruled him out of all formats for the next three months. With the seam-bowling all-rounder took to his official account on X and wrote in the end, “See you on the field to f*** some s*** up.”
The 33-year-old left the field midway through the third Test against New Zealand at the Seddon Park in Hamilton as he had sent down 12.2 overs in addition to 24 in the first innings of the fixture. Although he batted in the first innings, the knee injury didn’t allow him to bat in the second as the tourists lost by a massive 423 runs. Nevertheless, they had already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the first two matches.
Taking to X, Stokes wrote:
“Something else to overcome…go on then!!!!!!!! I’ve got so much more left in this tank and so much more blood sweat and tears to go through for my team and this shirt. There’s a reason I have a Phoenix permanently inked on my body. See you on the field to fuck some shit up.”
