Madhya Pradesh: Decks Cleared For Relief To Farmers Ousted From 11 Villages In Pipariya | File

Narmadapuram (Madhya Pradesh): Decks have been cleared for compensation to the villagers who were displaced from Pipariya sub-division, official sources said. Residents of 11 villages under Satpura Tiger Reserve in Pipariya sub-division were displaced from 2013 to 2018. The notification of Section-4 of the Indian Forest Act 1927 of the villages was published in the gazette on October 29, 2021.

The farmers, who lost their lands in the process, have been running from pillar to post for compensation for several years. When collector Sonia Meena came to know of it, she directed the officials to open the files and work out the cases.

The names of the 11 villages, from where residents were displaced, were Bargondi, Mogra, Badkachchar, Rorighat, Vinoura, Kajri, Muar, Kanjighat, Jamun Tonga and Ghoghri. As many as 284.259 hectares of farmers were registered under the Indian Forest Act 1927.

The preliminary notification was published on December 24 this year under section of the Right Fair Compensation and Transparency of in Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. It happened because of the efforts of the collector.

Now, the farmers will soon get their compensation. Meena is continuously reviewing the forest management and land acquisition cases, so that the poor may get compensation without delay. Meena directed the revenue officials to dispose of the long-pending cases so that farmers may get compensation without any hassle.
