Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): As many as 14 dead cows were found floating in the Panna Pahadi waterfall in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh. Disturbing photos on social media show the mortal remains of the cattle floating on the river.
It is reported that villagers saw the dead cattle around 4 pm on Sunday and shared the visuals on social media.
Upon receiving information, the police have registered a case on Monday.
In the visuals, the dead cattle were seen floating in the Panna Pahadi waterfall.
According to information, the villagers found dead cattle in the waterfall on Sunday around 4 pm. One of the villagers uploaded the video on social media, which soon went viral.
It is reported that villagers suspected that the dead cattle belonged to nearby cowshed run by Pashupatinath Jagrukta Samiti. After their death, the cattle were dumped in the waterfall.
After the visuals went viral, several ‘gau rakshaks’ (cow protectors) have come forward and demanded strict action from the authorities. Upon receiving the information, the police registered a case in Rampur Naikin police station on Monday and sent the officials to the spot.
The police assured the protestors that if dead cattle belonged to the cowshed, strict action would be taken.

This was second such incident in past five months. A few months ago in August, a video surfaced on social media, showing some people throwing cows into a swollen river in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. Nearly 20 cows are reported to be dead in the incident.
An FIR was against four accused– Beta Bagri, Ravi Bagri, Rampal Choudhary and Rajlu Choudhary after the video went viral on social media.
