The stock market opened with gains on the first day of the trading week. As of 9.30 am today, the Sensex opened at 78,553 points with a gain of 512 points, while the Nifty opened at 23,780 points with a gain of +192.70 points.

 

Sensex crosses 78700

BSE Sensex opened at 78,488.64, a strong rise from its previous close of 78,041.598 and gained further momentum thereafter. Till the time of writing the news, BSE Sensex was trading up 692 points at 78,743. As for NSE Nifty, the index rose from its previous closing level of 23,587.50 and started trading at 23,738.20 and touched 23,792.75 within a few minutes.

Now, if we talk about the fastest rising stocks amid the market boom, these include shares of companies ranging from Mukesh Ambani to Tata Group. Large cap Sensex companies include HDFC Bank (1.60%), ICICI Bank (1.52%), Bharti Airtel (1.20%) and Tata Steel (1.02%).

Paytm’s share also increased

Talking about shares of other companies, shares of JSW Infra included in midcap category were trading up by 2.61%, shares of Paytm by 2%, shares of GMR Airport were trading up by 1.92%. Apart from this, among small cap companies, shares of India Cement were trading with a gain of 8.98%, shares of Star Cement were trading with a gain of 6.54%.

The market crashed on Friday

Let us tell you that there was a big fall in the stock market on the last trading day of last week. Sensex fell 1200 points during trading, while Nifty fell 364 points. However, Sensex fell 1176 points to close at 78041, while Nifty fell 364 points to close at 23,587. But on the first day of this week, both the indices were seen recovering from the fall.
