Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Officers of district administration freed government land worth estimated Rs 600 cr from encroachment, on Thursday. The land is registered in the name of a temple with Indore collector as its manager.

SDM Ghanshyam Dhangar, who led the action, informed that they had freed 12.371 hectares of land, located in village Lasudiyamori, from encroachment. The land valued at around Rs 600 cr had been encroached upon by Ram Prasad, Meharwan Singh, and Narayan Singh.

Under the guidance of SDM Dhangar, additional tehsildar Kamlesh Kushwaha, naib tehsildar Shivshankar Jarolia and revenue inspectors Jaynarayan Gupta, Manish Chaturvedi, Manoj, Shukla, patwaris, police and IMC officials removed the encroachments. The land is in the name of Shri Murli Manohar Temple.

Official sources informed that on January 31 this year a civil court rejected the petition of the encroachers and declared that the land belonged to Shri Murli Manohar Temple. In compliance with the civil court order, the court of additional tehsildar of Juni Indore registered a case against the encroachers in May and issued a show cause notice and ordered them to vacate the said land.

Neither did the encroachers reply, nor did they remove the encroachment. To mislead the government, they sowed wheat on the land. In another development, under the direction of collector Asheesh Singh, about 40,000 sq ft of land of 12 plot holders of Princess Estate Colony, 0.280 hectares under Denmark Colony and 10,000 sq. ft. land from Yashwant Singh were vacated and possession was handed over to the landholders of Princess Estate.
