Bhopal/Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): One person died, and another was seriously injured after a speeding dumper collided with an SUV in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain.
The accident occurred on Sunday night on Badnagar Road in Ujjain. A speeding dumper, travelling on the wrong side of the road, rammed into an SUV. The driver of the car died on the spot, while the passenger has sustained major injuries.
The injured has been referred to the local hospital where his treatment is underway. The driver of the dumper left the crashed vehicle on the spot and fled. The police were called, and a case has been registered.
According to information, the victim, identified as 21-year-old Virendra Anjana, was a resident of Vijayaganj Mandi in the district. Anjana, along with his brother-in-law Arjun Anjana, was on their way to Talod village in the district. Arjun was driving the car, and Virendra was in the passenger seat. While they were on their way, out of nowhere, a speeding dumper rammed into their SUV from the front. The collision was so intense that the car was blown to pieces on impact. All the airbags of the car were immediately deployed.
Unfortunately, Virendra, who was sitting in the passenger seat, died on the spot. Arjun, on the other hand, sustained major injuries. The driver of the dumper, seeing the impact of the collision, left the dumper and fled the scene. Onlookers immediately contacted police, who arrived at the spot promptly.
Police investigation
Police arrived with an ambulance. The injured were sent to the local hospital for treatment, and the deceased’s body was sent for post mortem. The police have filed a case in this regard and have begun an investigation. A team has been deployed to nab the dumper’s driver.
