With Australia sitting comfortably at 405/7 ahead of day three of the Gabba Test looms, Team India face an uphill battle to save the match. However, the visiting side will be buoyed due to the weather inclement of the next three days as patches of rain are predicted in the city, which could impede Australia’s chances of pushing for a win.

The hosts thoroughly dominated day two at the Gabba as Steve Smith and Travis Head combined to stitch a 241-run partnership after finding themselves in a bit of bother at 75/3. While Australia had a mini collapse, another 50-run stand between Alex Carey and Pat Cummins propelled them past 400 comfortably. Carey is still batting with 45 and will look to be aggressive on day three.
