Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The progress of generating Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) IDs in the state remains slow with several districts lagging behind. Till December 13, only 21.45 lakh APAAR IDs have been generated out of 145.98 lakh enrolments from nursery to Class 12, making the overall progress just 14.69% in both government and private schools.
From Class 1 to 8, out of 112.11 lakh enrolments, only 14.86 lakh IDs have been generated so far, which is just 13.26% of the total. Similarly, from Class 9 to 12, out of 33.87 lakh enrolments, only 6.58 lakh IDs have been created, reflecting a progress rate of 19.43%. To address this slow progress, the Director of State Education Centre Harjinder Singh has directed daily monitoring of progress at the district level.
Besides, regular reviews will be held through videoconferencing to ensure targets are met by the end of this year. District Project Coordinators (DPCs) have been appointed nodal officers for schools running from Class 1 to 8 to ensure effective implementation. At the block level, Block Resource Coordinators (BRCs) will oversee the process.
Teachers in each school will be designated to handle APAAR ID generation, and schools with higher enrolment will be prioritised in the first phase. Camps will also be set up to address Aadhaar card generation and correction for students. Schools are required to organise PTA meetings to obtain parental consent for APAAR ID creation, collect photocopies of students’ Aadhaar cards, and ensure the confidentiality and systematic storage of consent forms.
