Telugu actor Nani has come out in support of Allu Arjun, who has been arrested and sent to 14 days judicial custody in connection with Pushpa 2 stampede case. For the unawares, a 35-year-old woman died in stampede which took place at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4.

Allu Arjun was booked under sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) (punishment for causing hurt) of BNS.

Reacting to his arrest, actor Nani said that everyone should learn from the incident and be more careful in the future.

Taking to his official X account, Nani wrote, “I wish the kind of enthusiasm government authorities and media show in anything related to people from cinema was also there for the regular citizens. We would have lived in a better society.”

“That was an unfortunate incident and it was heart breaking. We should all learn from the disaster and be lot more careful here after and introduce measures to make sure this doesn’t happen again. We are all at fault here. One person is not responsible for this,” he added.

Earlier today, actor Varun Dhawan came out in support of Allu Arjun and stated that the actor can’t be blamed for everything. At Baby John’s promotions in Jaipur, Varun said, “Safety protocols are not something that an actor can take on himself. We can tell people around us.”

Further explaining how movie theatre chain Cinepolis managed the arrangements for his film’s promotions, Varun added, “I can talk about this only; Cinepolis has made a very good arrangement here, and we are grateful to them for that. And the incident that took place is very painful.”

Earlier, Allu Arjun addressed the tragic incident and assured that he would be donating Rs 25 lakh to the grieving family. He said, “Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them they are not alone in this pain and will meet the family personally. While respecting their need for space to grieve, I stand committed to extend every possible assistance to help them navigate through this challenging journey.”

“We’d like to tell you that we are there for you. I’d like to donate an amount of Rs 25 lakhs. It’s just a goodwill gesture to secure their future,” he added.
