Regarding the incident, the veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh has accused the ED of harassing Manoj Parmar, which allegedly led to this unfortunate demise.
The senior politician took to X and wrote, “Manoj Parmar from Ashta was allegedly being harassed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) without any valid reason. During Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, Manoj’s children had presented their piggy bank as a token of support.”
He continued, “A raid was conducted at Manoj Parmar’s residence by ED Assistant Director from Bhopal, Sanjeet Kumar Sahu. According to Manoj, the raid was carried out solely because he was a supporter of the Indian National Congress. I had arranged legal assistance for Manoj, but it deeply saddens me to say that he was so distressed that this morning, he and his wife ended their lives by suicide.
