Kolkata: Ministry of Defence sources on Thursday said that a Bangladesh delegation is likely to attend the Vijay Diwas celebrations in Kolkata on December 16 December 16, which marks the Indian Armed Forces’ historic victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war.
The Bangladesh delegation comprising ‘Mukhti Joddhas’ attend the Vijay Diwas celebrations every year at Indian Army’s Eastern Command in Kolkata.
The Defence sources however, didn’t divulge any details of the size of the delegations.
Meanwhile, ISKCON Kolkata vice president Radharaman Das thanked advocate Rabindra Ghosh for defending arrested monk Chinmoy Krishna Das despite facing attacks.
“I am still hopeful that Chinmoy Krishna Das will get justice. The government should ensure justice to the monk. Despite odds, I am thankful to Rabindra Ghosh for standing by Chinmoy Prabhu. Whatever is happening in Bangladesh is a total violation of human rights. I have heard that several people are getting converted. After foreign secretary meeting so far temples didn’t get attacked,” mentioned Radharaman Das.
Notably, both on Wednesday and Thursday fast tracking of Chinmoy Krishna Das’ case was not heard by Chittagong court.
Advocate Rabindra Ghosh said that since he is defending the arrested monk he is aware that false cases can be slapped against him and also that he will have life threat.
