Nepal’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashok Raj Sigdel, is set to visit Pune tomorrow on December 13, 2024, as part of his official trip to India. During his visit, Gen Sigdel will engage with representatives of the Indian defense industry, explore defense industries, and witness a static equipment display in the city. His visit to Pune is part of a broader tour aimed at enhancing military cooperation between India and Nepal.

Gen Sigdel began his significant official visit to India on December 10, which included meetings with top Indian officials, including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. He will also attended a ceremonial wreath-laying at the National War Memorial and receive a Guard of Honour at the South Block.

A key highlight of his visit will be attending the Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on December 12, where he will be conferred the honorary rank of General of the Indian Army. The visit also includes stops in Dehradun and Ayodhya, where he will visit the Ram Temple. Gen Sigdel will conclude his trip on December 15 before returning to Nepal.
