Al Barkaat MMI English School Kurla gained crucial 11-run lead over Anjuman-I-Islam Allana English School in the first innings of Harris Shield MSSA U-16 cricket tournament.

However, during their second innings, Al-Barkaat were bundled out for 132 in 35.1 overs, losing the initiative a bit. Mangde narrowly missed his half century but emerged the top scorer in the second innings for his team amid spoils. Vedant Bande supported him with 37.

Prabhat Pandey was the star of the show on day 2 grabbing a five-wicket haul bowling extremely well, (5-34) and was ably supported by Shane Raza who picked (3-46). Anjuman Islam finished day 2 at stumps with 6-0 in 3 overs.

Earlier, Anjuman Allana scored 191 in 60.3 overs in their first innings. Prabhat Pandey scored 43, and Afzal Shaikh chipped in with 34. Al-Barkaat’s left arm spinner Nitesh Nishad grabbed a four fer, (4-51) while leg spinner Wali Sayyed picked (4-40).

Earlier on day 1, Al-Barkaat thus posted a commendable 202 in 58.2 overs. Opener Om Bangar played well for his 69 in 56 balls with 14 fours and one maximum. Deven Yadav also made 47 with seven boundaries. Leg spinner Yuvan Sharma took (4-50), off spinner Prabhat Pandey picked (3-56) while left arm spinner Abdurrahman Khan also grabbed two wickets.

In another semifinal, Dnyandeep Seva Mandal were bundled out for 125 in 40 overs against Modern English School Chembur at Parsee Gymkhana on Tuesday. Left arm spinner Dikshant Patil picked (4-30).

Batting again, during their second innings the Modern unit posted 114 in 35.3 overs. Kanav Saini top scored with 41 in 50 balls. Left arm spinner Zaid Khan once again was the star with the ball grabbing another six-wicket haul (6-38), thus picking 12 wickets in the entire match. Off spinner Virat Yadav picked (3-53). Dnyandeep in reply, finished day 2 with 75-5 needing 29 runs for a win.

Previously, on day 1, batting first, Modern English posted 114 all out in 39.5 overs. Left arm spinner Zaid Khan bowled brilliantly and bagged 6-19 while off spinner Virat Yadav grabbed three wickets (3-43).
