The SFA Championships 2024 in Mumbai on Tuesday witnessed electrifying competition as aspiring athletes vied for glory. In the swimming arena, Lavanya Sable from Orchids International School, Malad West, clinched gold in the freestyle event, while Nayra Kaushal from NES Public School, Mulund, secured the silver medal in a fiercely contested race.
In shooting, Viraj Sawant from Tolani College of Commerce claimed gold in the Boys’ U-19 Open Sight category, while Hriddun Savant from Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, earned silver. In the same event, Rajveer Gill of Tolani College secured another gold, while Tanaya Jain from Utpal Shanghvi Global School took silver. In the Girls’ U-17 category, Farah Shaikh from Canossa High School, Mahim, dominated with a gold-winning performance.
In Judo U14 boys Sparsh Tutwala from Vibgyor Roots and rise, Malad west secures gold followed by Arjun varma from Vibgyor High School Goregaon secures silver. Meanwhile in girls U12 Meera Ajgoankar from D.g Khetan International School, Malad secures gold followed by Radha Khaire from The Alexander girls english school, Fort secures silver.
After eight days of intense competition, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyalaya, Borivali, leads the medal tally with 14 gold, 13 silver, and 13 bronze medals, amassing an impressive 122 points. Children’s Academy, Malad, holds the second position, while Oberoi International School, Goregaon, rounds out the top three.
