Mumbai: The Trombay police have solved the murder case of a woman and arrested her husband. According to the police, the accused, identified as Amol Pawar (36), killed his wife after she refused to give him money to gamble. Enraged by her refusal, Pawar strangled her to death and fled the scene.

The Trombay police revealed that Pawar frequently demanded money from his wife for drinking alcohol or gambling. On November 29, an argument over the issue escalated, leading to the tragic incident. When their son returned home, he found his mother unconscious. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Following the incident, the police registered an FIR and launched a manhunt for Pawar. A police officer disclosed that Pawar had boarded a train and traveled across multiple locations in the country without using a phone, making it challenging to track him. The investigation revealed that he had traveled through Thane, Navi Mumbai, and Uttar Pradesh. On December 1, police traced him to Delhi, but Pawar managed to escape before they could apprehend him.

Pawar reportedly contacted his son before heading to Chennai, which helped the police trace his movements. He was eventually arrested in Chennai on December 6. Police also confirmed that Pawar has a prior criminal history. Further investigation into the case is underway.
