Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], December 9 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed a program organized by the Ramakrishna Math at Lekhamba in Sanand taluka in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad on Monday, where he highlighted the growing role of India’s youth in the nation’s progress.
As per the release, PM Modi, during his address, stated that today’s India is advancing on the foundation of its knowledge, tradition, and centuries-old teachings.
Highlighting India’s growing influence in modern technology, the Prime Minister noted that Swami Vivekanand, a staunch proponent of modern science, believed that the true value of science lies not only in explaining phenomena but in inspiring and propelling humanity forward.
The Prime Minister observed that India’s identity is being shaped by numerous achievements, such as having the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, progressing toward becoming the world’s third-largest economy, advancing in modern infrastructure, and offering solutions to global challenges.
He further emphasized, “Swami Vivekanand believed that youth power is the backbone of the country.”
Reflecting on this, the Prime Minister remarked that the time has come for the youth to take up this responsibility. He stated that India has embarked on a new journey of Amrit Kaal with the steadfast resolve of Viksit Bharat.
Emphasizing the need to achieve this goal within the designated timeframe, the Prime Minister affirmed, “India is the youngest nation in the world.”
The Prime Minister added that today, India’s youth have demonstrated their capabilities on the global stage. It is the youth power of India that is steering the world’s largest companies, taking on the responsibility of India’s development.
Highlighting that the country now has both time and opportunities, PM Modi Modi emphasised the importance of preparing the youth for leadership in every aspect of nation-building.
He pointed out that, much like in technology and other fields, India’s youth must also lead the country in politics.
The Prime Minister also shared the government’s commitment to bring 1 lakh talented and energetic youth into politics in the near future. These young leaders will represent the new face of Indian politics in the 21st century and shape the nation’s future. Emphasizing spirituality and sustainable development, the Prime Minister said that these two key ideas are essential to making the Earth a better place. By achieving harmony between them, we can create a better future.
He further mentioned that Swami Vivekanand emphasized the practical side of spirituality, advocating for a spirituality that serves society’s needs. In addition to purity of thought, Swami Vivekanand also emphasised the importance of maintaining a clean environment.
The PM emphasized that achieving sustainable development requires balancing economic growth, social welfare, and environmental protection. The Prime Minister observed that Swami Vivekanand’s teachings will guide us in realizing this objective. It is essential to balance spirituality with sustainability. While spirituality brings balance to the mind, sustainability teaches us to maintain harmony with nature.
The Prime Minister also conveyed the belief that organizations like the Ramakrishna Mission will play a key role in advancing initiatives such as Mission LiFE and Ek Pad Maa Ke Naam.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while inaugurating the Sant Niwas, Restaurant, and Prayer Hall at Ramakrishna Math in Lekhamba, emphasised Swami Vivekanand’s unique connection with Gujarat. He stated that it was Gujarat’s good fortune that Swami Vivekanand lived here. To honour his legacy, the Swami Vivekanand Tourist Circuit is being developed in the state with an investment of over Rs 100 crore.
Addressing the occasion, CM patel stated that PM Modi follows the ideals of Swami Vivekanand and has embraced the path of Seva (Service) and yog taught by Swami Ramakrishna Paramahans. The Prime Minister is also working to ensure that today’s youth adopt the teachings of Swamiji. The Chief Minister emphasized the significant role played by the various Ramakrishna Maths across the state, their socially beneficial activities, and the cultural importance of the historic Ramakrishna Math of Rajkot.
He further remarked that Swami Vivekanand is the messenger of India’s spiritual heritage. His teachings continue to guide us and provide solutions to contemporary challenges. In this context, the Chief Minister stated that for the creation of Viksit Bharat, the Prime Minister has set forth a development roadmap with the mantra ‘Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi.’
He emphasized that preserving our culture is key to laying a strong foundation for development and that progress will be achieved through character-building. The Chief Minister also noted that the Prime Minister has commended India’s development journey, driven by these ideals, which has strengthened India’s image as a powerful nation on the global stage.
The Chief Minister shared his view that the upcoming facilities at the Ramakrishna Math in Ahmedabad, including a hostel, youth training center, high-tech theme park, and pilgrim residence, will enhance the Math’s popularity.
Ahmedabad Ramakrishna Math President Swami Prabhusevanandji provided a detailed overview of the Vivekanand Theme Park, which is set to be developed at the Lekhamba Math. He mentioned that the park will showcase Swami Vivekanand’s contributions to global upliftment, incorporating modern technology. He also expressed confidence that the proposed theme park will be a significant new addition to Gujarat. Swami Shri Gautamanandaji Maharaj, President of Ramakrishna Mission and Ramakrishna Math Belur, also graced the program.
The event was attended by MLA Kanubhai Patel, Ahmedabad District Panchayat President Kanchanba Vaghela, Mahamatra of Gujarat Sahitya Akademi Jayendrasinh Jadav, along with a large gathering of saints and followers of the Ramakrishna Mission. (ANI)
