The International Management Institute Bhubaneswar (IMI Bhubaneswar), celebrated its 12th Annual Convocation Ceremony, conferring diplomas on 180 students, including one Fellow Program in Management (FPM) student. Mohan Charan Majhi, Honourable Chief Minister of Odisha, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, alongside Sunil Mitra, Independent Director at CESC Ltd., and Himadri Das, Director General, IMI

The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the pursuit of knowledge. The convocation highlighted exceptional student achievements, with Divyansh Singh receiving the Gold Medal and the prestigious Dr. Rama Prasad Goenka Best Student Medal. Dipti Shaw was awarded the Silver Medal, while Tanmay Ranjan Sahoo earned the Director’s Medal for his overall contributions. The Summer Internship Project (SIP) Awards recognised outstanding projects, with Madhurima Majumdar securing the top spot, followed by Ayan Dutta and Rohit Saraiwala.

P.C. Biswal, Director, IMI Bhubaneswar, addressed the gathering, celebrating the institute’s NIRF ranking of 61 among 876 participating institutes and its prestigious international accreditation by the Association of MBAs (AMBA). He highlighted faculty accomplishments, noting the publication of 82 Scopus-indexed research papers in the past academic year. Sharing a few words for the graduates he said, “At IMI Bhubaneswar, we nurture empathetic leaders, conscious changemakers, and drivers of innovation. As you graduate today, remember that the future belongs to those who dare to dream and take decisive action”.

Research initiatives and launch of online certificate program

Biswal further noted the institute’s international outreach, highlighting seminars that attracted renowned researchers from Portugal and the UAE, along with flagship conferences in collaboration with EGADE Business School. He announced the launch of an online certificate program in “People Analytics” for corporate executives, with additional programs in development. He also shared IMI Bhubaneswar’s ESG assurance audit by Ernst & Young.

Himadri Das, Director General, IMI concluded the ceremony urging graduates to embrace a thirst for knowledge, courage and compassion in their careers. “Ability to take risks, adapt, network and collaborate are the keys to leadership in today’s dynamic world,” he advised.
