Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi dodged the question of a rumoured affair with Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre. During an interaction, the host made a stunning claim that the 49-year-old actress had a massive crush on Afridi and asked the retired cricketer whether they were only friends or anything blossomed between them. In response, Afridi hilariously remarked how the host made him a grandfather a few moments ago.
Afridi, one of the most swashbuckling all-rounders during his heydays, had the ability to change the complexion of any game with his aggressive stroke play. The 47-year-old made his international debut in October 1996 and went on to play 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20Is till 2016.
Afridi was asked at the Urdu conference at the Karachi Arts Council as below is the video of the same:
“Pakistan cricket should be strong and self-sufficient” – Shahid Afridi’s stance on Champions Trophy 2025
With the deadlock on the venue for the Champions Trophy still persisting, Afridi asserted that it should be a two-way street and that Pakistan should cease travelling to India if India are not coming to the neighbouring nation.
“Even the ICC now has to decide whether its responsibility is to ensure every member nation gets to play cricket or it just wants to make money. Pakistan cricket should be strong and self-sufficient and take strong principled decisions. If India can’t come and play in Pakistan then there is no reason for us to go and play any event in India.”
